26 Weeks

We are officially at less than 100 days until this baby gets here!  It's all starting to feel so real and now I'm starting to freak out at all of the items we have left to do.  I guess we should get moving on things like the baby room!  I have some really amazing friends from work who graciously gave us a bunch of things for Kendall.  Some of it we can use and some of it will go to the in-laws house so that when Kendall and her cousin visit MIL will have "stuff" for them to sit in and keep busy.  I'd been looking for a crib and couldn't find anything that knocked my socks off that I wanted to pay for.  My co-worker had her sons crib and changing table, in the perfect color, and she just gave them to us.  Amazing!!

Here's my belly picture for the week.  I'm in my hottest outfit, that is for sure!

And the famous pregnancy survey!

How far along?: 26 weeks
Total weight gain: Officially up 15 lbs.  I have a feeling I'm going to put on the lbs more quickly at this point, I can't stop eating and Kendall is getting bigger and bigger.  Hopefully I don't gain much more than 10-15 lbs.  I should probably stop eating so many sweets to help with that.
How big is baby?:  About 14 in head to toe; about 1 1/2 lbs
Maternity clothes?:  All the time now.  Mostly pants, I have some non-maternity shirts that still fit.
Movement: The midwife told us that she should move 4x an hour or 8x every two hours.  She is moving at least 10x an hour at this point so she is VERY active.  Saturday night she found the inside of my ribcage which was interesting.  Still loving feeling her move though!
Stretch marks?: Still none yet....**knock on wood**.  I did just order some Mamma Bee belly lotion, as soon as it gets here I'll start using that as well.
Sleep?: At this point I'm waking up at least 2x a night to go to the bathroom and then have a hard time falling back asleep.  The worst is when I wake up at 3 or 3:30 and then have to get up for work around 5.  Needless to say, I've not been good at getting to work on time...
Symptoms?: I'm tired now!!  And my nausea is coming back, hardcore in the morning.  I also have the Mask of Pregnancy that is getting worse the further I go along.  Its really pretty pigmentation on my forehead and cheeks...not cute.  But my skin has been very clear and in the past week I've had a couple of days with serious amounts of energy - and I'm much appreciative of that.
Food cravings: Cupcakes & chicken nuggets.  I'd eat them all day every day if that were okay.  Probably not a good idea though...
Belly button in or out?: The right side is making its way out, the left side is still all the way in.
What I miss: Wine!  Not because I want to get drunk but b/c I just want to enjoy a glass of wine every now and then.
What I'm looking forward to: Still our trip to Phoenix but also getting Kendall's room organized.  We will probably work on that at the beginning of July.
Best Moment this week: Getting a free crib and dresser!!
Milestone: I guess just getting this far.  Can't believe we are almost there!
Nursery Progress: Nothing new to report here.

25-Weeks

Okay I'm actually at the end of my 25th week but I'll blog for this past week anyway.  It was kind of a strange week.  Monday was Labor Day and the 1-year anniversary of when I got the postive pregnancy test for gingerbread.  I thought about it a little bit, but more than anything I thought about gingerbread.  We would have a 4-month old by now, and I understand why we don't, but little remiders are sometimes hard.

I did get nice and sick Monday night with some sort of stomach bug.  I ended up in Labor and Delivery having to get an IV and some anti-nausea medicine.  Hopefully I won't have to go back there until we get MUCH closer to September.

Here is my belly for the week:

I'm officially going to start those fun pregnancy surveys too!  Here we go:

How far along?: 25 weeks
Total weight gain: I'm pretty sure I'm up around 12-lbs.  I'll try to remember to weigh myself at the beginning of 26-weeks for sure.
How big is baby?: The size of an eggplant
Maternity clothes?:  All the time now.  Mostly pants, I have some non-maternity shirts that still fit.
Movement: Kendall is a crazy person in there.  She moves all the time, and I'm not complaining.  I love feeling her move.
Stretch marks?: Not yet....**knock on wood**
Sleep?: I'm not doing too bad, but sometimes depends on the night.  I toss and turn all night and wake up about 4-times but for the most part I fall back asleep.  I have noticed that when I wake-up, Kendall does too though.  So it can be hard getting back to sleep with her wiggling around in there.
Symptoms?: Still having some food aversions and I'm pretty tired.  But that's about all.
Food cravings: Watermelon and thats about it.
Belly button in or out?: On its way out, but not quite there.
What I miss: Having the energy to clean.  I have all these things I want to do around the house but as I get 1/2 way through them, I want to lay down.
What I'm looking forward to: Our trip to Phoenix at the end of this month!  Its going to be hot but I cannot wait to spend an entire weekend in the pool!!
Best Moment this week: Probably our "road trip" to Santa Fe.  We found a Gymboree outlet and I bought way to much clothes for our little girl, but that's okay!
Milestone: Hit double digits today!  She will be here in 99-days or less!
Nursery Progress: Uh, nursery, what nursery...haha.  We haven't even started!!  That will probably be my July project.  Here is my inspiration though...

2011 Starts With a Baby - The Catch Up Blog

I woke up on New Year's Eve, 2010 and decided to go ahead and take a pregnancy test (afterall, we were going to party like rockstars that night).  Amazingly enough, that test was positive and Clarence and I were going to be ringing in the New Year with a New Baby on the way!  I couldn't be more excited than I was in that moment, but also very scared.  We did our beta-testing and my numbers doubled in the 48-hour window.  Looks like we will have an addition to our family, September 12, 2011!!

So we scheduled our 1st ultrasound at 7 weeks.
The ultrasound went perfect.  We saw a baby that measured 2 days ahead with a beautiful little heartbeat.  At my request we asked to schedule another one at 9-weeks before we moved to a midwife.

Here is the 9 week ultrasound.
Still had a healthy baby in there, still a heartbeat, and this time the ultrasound looked like a baby.  She wiggled for us a little and let us know she was doing okay.

Ultrasound at 16-weeks showed our little gummy bear is a girl!!  Kendall Elizabeth

Ultrasound at 20-weeks showed she was still a girl.  Who kinda looks like she has her Daddy's nose and lips.  ;0)

Wrap-Up 2010

So its been forever since I've been on here, but I've decided that it's time to get back at blogging.  What a crazy 9 months its been since I last posted.  Here are the highlights:
  • In October, Clarence was in an ATV accident and the side-by-side Clarence was riding in rolled to his side.  Luckily it had a roll-cage so no life-threatening injuries happened to him or the driver, but he did end up with broken bones in his hand, a dislocated wrist and compartment syndrome in his forearm.  4 nights in the hospital and 2 surgeries later we got to go home.  He has a pretty gnarly scar on his forearm but other than that he is doing much better.
  • In November, my Nanny passed away unexpectedly.  We got to spend one last week with her before being by her bedside as she took her final breath.  As sad as it was to see her go, I'm happy that she is in a better place.  She spent much of the last couple of years dealing with a lot of ailments and memory loss.  Its hard on us, but it has to be a relief for her.  She is in such better hands now with all my other family Heaven.  Here are some pics of her cabin (Clarence, RuthAnn and I went and spent a day cleaning her shed and saying one last goodbye to Stonewall, CO.  Also some pics of my beautiful family from the services.

  • We welcomed lots of friends new babies into our lives.  They are all beautiful and healthy and I couldn't be happier for everyone.
  • We had a great holiday season with friends and family and had lots to be grateful for.  While we did have a slightly rough year, we had lots to be happy about.
  • The best part of the year happened for us the last day of the year.  I'll get to that in the next post, don't want to overwhelm anyone!
Here are some fun pics from 2010 -
